Spring market at the DDB kicks off next month with WSJ

Spring Market at the Decoration and Design Building in New York kicks off in May 18. WSJ magazine Editor-in-Chief Deborah Needleman will deliver the keynote address to kick off the day's events. Here are some of the highlights:

11:00-11:45AM, Lorin Marsh, Suite 720, Bedmaking Event. Gideon Mendelson, Brendan Kwinter Schwartz, and Neal Beckstedt design and style their linens on Lorin Marsh beds will demonstrate how to achieve various looks of luxury.

Lutron, Suite 138. “Hiding Technology” CEU. Learn how electronics can integrate seamlessly into a home's design and décor. Learn to lessen the visual impact of video displays, projectors, speakers, and other devices without a sacrifice in performance.

12:00-12:45PM, Baroncelli, Suite 1507. Lighting Design for Commercial Spaces with Hilli Wuerz of Rockwell Group.

Fortuny, Suite 1632, DESIGN LOVES ART TALK: Murray Moss and Susan de Menil will be in conversation together as part of the Design Loves Art “Talks” series. Ms. de Menil's three-decade long involvement in art history, the art world in general, and the Menil art campus in Houston, and Mr. Moss' direction of the Moss store and gallery in New York, and now Moss Bureau, make them a fascinating encounter at the intersection of Art and Design.

12:00-12:45PM, Pierre Frey, Suite 1611. Visit Pierre Frey for the official reception to celebrate the collaborative launch of Hutton Home.

Robert Allen | Beacon Hill, Suite 301. Trends in Outdoor Living with New York Cottages & Gardens Editor-in-Chief Kendell Cronstrom and Editorial Director DJ Carey. Light fare and refreshments served.

1:30 to 3:00PM, Schumacher, Suite 832. Designing for a Sophisticated Child. Join designer Lulu DK and Susan North, Schumacher’s Senior Vice President of Design & Creative Director, for a panel discussion on designing sophisticated products to create living environments for today's children, from infants to teens. The conversation will be moderated by Carolyn Sollis, Contributing Editor at The Editor at Large. Following the panel, Schumacher hosts a reception in the showroom.

2:00-2:45 p.m., Walters Wicker, Suite 538, Social Media Marketing Made Simple. Wendi Caplan-Carroll, of Constant Contact presents an overview of strategies and techniques as well as time saving tips and hints to make your social media marketing more successful. Social Media has become an integral part of both business and personal lifestyles.

Leron, Suite 1521, Pillow Talk with Scandia Down. Deborah Walters, East Coast Regional Manager of Scandia Home will describe the different down qualities, weights, and constructions, and how to best determine what's right for your client. Light refreshments served.

2:30-3:15 p.m., Stark Wallcoverings, Suite 1002. Design: Concept to Execution with Wallcoverings. Artist Anya Larkin presents an insightful presentation “Design: Concept to Execution”. Larkin has defined the standard in the wallpaper industry since her studio’s inception more than 30 years ago.
