GANDIA BLASCO’s 11th-annual outdoor furniture design competition is now open, calling on applicants ages 18 to 35 to submit proposals for an outdoor kitchen space. The contest also hews to the theme of the Mediterranean lifestyle. Gandia Blasco, which is based in Valencia, Spain, says the contest theme is inspired by “the light, the landscape, the architecture and the joie de vivre of the Mediterranean people.”

The competition is open until March 9, and the honors will be awarded at the 2017 Salone del Mobile Milan. First prize is 2,000 euros and second prize is 1,000 euros.
