From the east to west coast and many cities in between, designers across the country are donating their time and talents to a slew of regional show houses in the name of charity and good design karma—and many are opening next month. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s coming down the pipeline.

ASID Designer Show House, April 3 – April 21: Lakewood and the Washington State Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers have partnered to bring a designer show house to the South Puget Sound area. The show house will be featured in the historic Wagner House mansion at 12317 Gravelly Lake Drive, SW, Lakewood Gardens, Washington. Hours are Wednesdays 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursdays  - Saturdays 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Sundays 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available online.

DC Design House, April 14 – May 12: The Washington, DC Design House began in 2008 as an event for the D.C. Metro area in which top area designers showcased their talents into a “flowing design home” to raise funds for a local charity. What began as a single event goal to raise funds for Children’s National Medical Center has developed into the region’s foremost annual residential design attraction and as a leading annual fundraiser event for Children’s National Medical Center. The DC Design House celebrates its sixth year this year at 2507 Foxhall Road, NW, Washington DC. Hours are Saturday and Sunday 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday – Friday 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $25 and will be available online.

Pasadena Showcase House of Design, April 21 – May 19: The 49th Pasadena Showcase House of Design is an all-volunteer organization founded in 1948, and is one of the oldest, largest and most successful house and garden tours in the nation. Maya Williams will be designing the living room this year, sponsored by F. Schumacher. The show house is located at the Cravens Estate in Pasadena, California and opens daily at 9:00 a.m. Tickets for the Pasadena Showcase House of Design are $40 in advance online and $45 at the door.

Decorators Show House and Gardens, April 27 – May 12: For the 52nd consecutive year, the St. Margaret's Hospital Guild is pleased to sponsor the Decorators’ Show House & Gardens as its major fundraising project. Each year Guild members, designers, landscape architects, financial sponsors, and donors of in-kind services volunteer their time, talents, goods, and monies to raise funds to help others. Typically, a homeowner will agree to move into temporary housing while his home is redecorated. The show house is located at the Schnull Rauch House, 3050 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. Hours are Tuesday – Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Sundays 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available online and benefit the Wishward Health Services.

Lake Forest Show House and Gardens, April 27 – May 19: A spectacular David Adler estate has been chosen as the 2013 Lake Forest Show House & Gardens. The early 20th-century architect David Adler was responsible for many grand estates, but perhaps none was so well executed as this Italianate mansion on the shores of Lake Michigan. Over the past 27 years this event has raised more than $2.75 million to provide medical services to Chicago’s working poor. All proceeds from the show house will help to fund the Angel Harvey Infant Welfare Society of Chicago Community Health Center, located in the Logan Square community. Shuttle buses will pick vistors up at 1150 North Western Avenue, Lake Forest, Illinois and transport them to the show house. Hours are Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Bucks County Designer Show House, April 28 – May 26: The Bucks County Designer Show House is an annual fundraiser run by the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown (V.I.A) to support Doylestown Hospital and V.I.A. Community Projects. A spacious home is made available by a homeowner and it is completely redecorated by interior designers and landscapers. This year’s show house takes place at the Clement Doyle House at 360 Old Dublin Pike, Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Hours are Monday – Wednesday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Thursday – Friday 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Sunday 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. Tickets are available online.

Adamsleigh Show House, April 20 – May 5: Running concurrently with market is the debut of the historic show house presented by Traditional Home and the Junior League of Greensboro (JLG). Miles Redd, Suzanne Kasler and Eric Cohler are among the designers participating in the show house at the historic Adamsleigh estate in Greensboro, North Carolina. The opening gala takes place Friday, April 19, on the eve of the opening of market. The house will be open to the public for two weeks after that.
