Contemporary Gallerist Paula Cooper will be honored at Publicolor’s annual Stir, Splatter + Roll gala on Thursday, April 9. The evening will feature painting with leading New York architects, artists and designers, a silent auction of one-of-a-kind totes by leading designers and a live auction.
The gala is expected to draw about 500 guests, including leading names from the business, fashion, politics, design, education and philanthropy worlds. (Michael Kors, for example, is a co-chair of the event.) Christie’s Auction House’s Lydia Fenet will be the auctioneer for the night.

Proceeds from the night go toward Publicolor’s mission to engage students in their education through design-based programs and academic and career support.. The organization aims to address the high dropout rate in inner city public schools.
The gala will take place at Martin Luther King, Jr. High School (at 122 Amsterdam Avenue). Cocktails begin at 6 p.m., and the dinner and program begin at 7:30 p.m. More information can be found online.
