In the wake of the Chicago Merchandise Mart's announcement this summer to open to the public, meaning consumers may make purchases through the Mart's on-site designers, the Pacific Design Center has followed suit in a less controversial manner. Design enthusiasts may shop participating showrooms, make purchases and enjoy events at PDC on select Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.

The design center offers special events such as intimate designer discussions, seminars and book signings to entice visitors and create a buzz.

Participating showrooms include Andrew Martin, Janus et Cie, Aga John, Poggenpohl, J.H. Minassian & Co., Audio Video Interiors, Montanari Group, among others.

To learn about the upcoming consumer-day events, visit the PDC website.
