A new art and home design expo is debuting in Southampton: The 160-plus-exhibitor Hamptons Contemporary fair is the brainchild of Art Hamptons creator and art world veteran Rick Friedman. “After I sold the fine art fairs, I took inspiration from the landscape and luxury synonymous with Hamptons living to create a new experience,” says Friedman. “Art doesn’t have to be something that hangs on a wall—with Hamptons Contemporary, our canvas is the entire home and the paint is all of the elements that contribute to an artful environment. Visitors at this show will find it all at this new luxury fair.”

Kicking off with a preview party tomorrow to benefit the Animal Rescue Fund, Hamptons Contemporary will cover 40,000 square feet at the Southampton Elks Fairgrounds. The evening will be hosted by Architectural Digest; Lisa McCarthy, ARF board president; Alex Papachristidis, designer and ARF board member; Jonathan Adler and Simon Doonan; Chesie Breen; Thom Filicia; Alexa Hampton; Celerie Kemble; Scott Nelson; Ann and John Pyne; and Elizabeth Pyne and Vicente Wolf, among others. Then a roster of top home and outdoor brands will display their wares from June 3 through 5.

The fair will feature a lounge designed by Glenn Gissler, ASID NY president-elect, and Bonnie Steves

ASID will provide a lounge space with furnishings from Royal Botania, and additional programming will include book signings with Pointed Leaf Press and Sylvester & Co., 30-minute interactive exhibits, ASID member-led tours, and roundtable discussions.
