Blogtour 2011 will bring bloggers from US and UK together, first at London Design Festival (LDF) in September of 2011 and then again during New York Design Festival in March of 2012. The tours are organized by Modenus in collaboration with Merchandise Mart Properties (MMPI) and mydeco.com.

Participating bloggers include Paul Anater from Kitchen and Residential Design; Stacey Bewkes of Quintessence; Bob Borson of Life of an Architect; Michelle Carangi of Poppytalk and HGTV Canada; Leslie Carothers of The Kaleidoscope Partnership; Amy Beth Cupp Dragoo of ABCDdesign.com; Andie Day Andie Day Blog; Mae Hacking and Elise Jones of Here in This House; Meredith Heron of Sashay; Michelle Jennings Wiebe of m{ression; Jonathan Legate of Jonathan Legate; Mollie Magill of Robin Baron Simplifying Fabulous!Tamara Matthews-Stephenson of Nest by Tamara; and Susan Serra of The Kitchen Designer and Scandinavian Kitchens.

The mission of Blogtour is to further the understanding and awareness of design in the US, UK and Europe and support networking and information exchange between design bloggers, designers, artisans and manufacturers while providing more exposure for international design events, according to Modenus founder Veronika Miller.

LDF events include afternoon tea at Victoria & Albert museum with welcome by William Knight, director of the London Design Festival; an invitation-only dinner at Conran headquarters; a Dezeen party at Design Junction; a curated tour of 100% Design by Mix Magazine with focus on color trends for 2012 and beyond; an afternoon TweetUp for US and UK bloggers to meet, mix and mingle with designers and manufacturers. Day two includes shopping morning at Brick Lane, TENT London and a walk over to Origin Contemporary Craft Fair including a podium discussion: “Across the pond – design trends in US and UK”. Day three includes an afternoon at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour to see some of the design world's greatest showrooms, including those of the sponsors Samuel Heath and Victoria + Albert Baths. Afternoon tea is hosted by DCCH with welcome by Becky Metcalf and a surprise visit, followed by an invitation-only dinner.

"We wanted the event to emphasize the nature of blogging which is often very enthusiastic, in the tone of voice of the individual writing it and stems from a true passion for the topic at hand, so while there is a basic structure of events with BlogTour, we’ve tried to keep plenty of space for everyone to write about things that they find inspiring and can cover as if they were there on their own," said Miller.
