The Winter 2016 Las Vegas Market, held January 24 to 28, boasted its highest levels of leasing activity in five years, as well as a five percent jump in attendance by home decor buyers. The market also enjoyed the busiest-ever opening day in its decade-long history.

The furniture category reported nearly 100 percent occupancy in showrooms. A total of 146 new showrooms opened on 40 floors in three buildings. And almost 180 new exhibitors launched in the recently expanded Pavilions at Las Vegas Market. Buyers from all 50 states and 77 countries were present. The top five most represented states included California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas and Washington.

“Winter Market was extremely strong, with robust traffic. Despite weather-related travel delays, people were committed to getting here, and we set another Las Vegas buyer attendance record,” said Scott Eckman, executive vice president of marketing and furniture leasing for International Market Centers. “The industry has a real sense of optimism right now. We saw major exclusive-to-our-market product introductions and countless showroom expansions. Order writing also was fast and furious, a strong indicator that 2016 is starting off on very solid footing.”

Summer Market will return to Las Vegas from July 31 to August 4. Learn more.
