Each year, Gift for Life selects an individual who has had significant, positive impact on the gift and home industries to honor  with the GFL Industry Achievement Award. For the 2011 Design For Life award, the GFL has selected Kathy Ireland, CEO and chief designer for Kathy Ireland Worldwide, a design company which sold more than $1.4 billion in product last year.

Honorees have included a number of industry luminaries, including Eugene Freedman, Andrea Grossman, Skip Ungrodt, Bert Tonkin, Will Little, Peer Baekgaard, and 2009 award winner Bobbie Gottlieb, co-founder and CEO of Two’s Company.

GFL was founded in 1992 by a small group of gift industry professionals who felt compelled to respond to the loss of talented friends and colleagues to AIDS. Through initiatives in the home furnishings industry like the Design for Life award, they've raised more than $4,000,000 for life-saving AIDS research and education.

In 2008, Gift For Life selected DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS, one of the largest funders of HIV/AIDS service and education programs in the United States, as our sole charity partner.

Ireland will be honored at GFL's 19th Anniversary Party, New York Experience, in January 2011. For details, email Steven Williams or call (212) 727-3100.
