Interior designer Kathryn Ireland, one of Bravo's Million Dollar Decorators, is set to host designer boot camps throughout the year, beginning Jan. 24 – 27, in Los Angeles. Her first-ever boot camp took place last October and got rave reviews from attendees.

Camp attendees will learn to develop their own design and decorating skills while taking hints and tips from Ireland throughout each four-day camp.

“The reason behind starting these boot camps was to share my experience as a designer over my 20-year career,” said Ireland. “I have learned valuable lessons, which I wanted to share with other people. I want to help people avoid making some of the costly mistakes I made early in my career. The boot camp is designed for both professionals and amateurs.”

The boot camp covers all aspects of interior design—from contracts to budgets to mood boards, furniture placement and going to some favorite hidden haunts. It is a comprehensive, four days of non-stop, hands-on work among an intimate group.

Who attends the camp? “Some of the participants come to the boot camp with an agenda, given that they are working on a specific job or project,” said Ireland. “There are also veteran designers, personal clients or designers new to the industry who attend to understand more about the design business. Regardless of the reasoning, it is just as valuable to everyone who participates. My goal is that they gain snippets of the knowledge I've obtained through my career.”
