Joel Chen to receive DADC's Design Leadership Award

Antiques dealer Joel Chen of JF Chen will be honored with LACMA's Decorative Arts and Design Council's Design Leadership Award at the 17th Annual Los Angeles Antiques, Art + Design show, taking place October 10-14 in Santa Monica.

For the first time, the show will include contemporary and 21st century design, among the 60 national and international exhibitors.

“Joel is legendary for nurturing young designers as well as presenting the best historical work, and we are happy to have the opportunity to recognize his inspiring role in the community as well as his many contributions to LACMA,” said LACMA Decorative Arts and Design department head Wendy Kaplan. Last year's Design Leadership Award winner was Rose Tarlow.

The Show is presented by the Antiques Dealers Association of California (ADAC) and managed by Dolphin Promotions. It benefits the Decorative Arts and Design Council (DADC), established in 1975, is a support group for the Los Angeles County Museum of Arts' (LACMA) Design Department.
