A new tool, Visual Match, lets users find and purchase products and materials via Houzz based on what they find in online photos. The feature, which is available online and in the Houzz smartphone app, scans over 11 million photos to identify furniture and decor that is similar to what’s available in the Houzz Marketplace, which hosts 6 million products for purchase from 15,000 merchants.

“People come to Houzz because they want to get everything they need to improve their homes in one place, from inspiration to execution,” explains Alon Cohen, the company’s co-founder and president. “Visual Match makes it even easier for people to take action on inspiration, enabling them to view a photo in the Houzz app, tap a product in the photo that they love, and use View in My Room to see the product in their own space before purchasing.” View in My Room, a Houzz feature that was launched earlier this year, allows users to see Houzz Marketplace products within their own rooms.

The app is available for iPhone, iPad and Android.
