The American Craft Council San Francisco Show unfolded over July 31 to August 2 with a number of new additions. Billed as "the largest craft show west of the Rockies," this year's show featured exhibits including “Make Room: Modern Design Meets Craft 4 Elements," devoted to the blend of design and craft and featuring the work of interior designers; "Hip Hop," a pop-up show featuring Natalie Davis of Canoe Goods, Dominique Bereiter of Gallery 360, Niki Fisk of Niki Fisk Studio, Elizabeth Pechacek of Elizabeth Pechacek Ceramics, Jenn Romero of Unurth Home and Rachel Shimpock of Rachel Shimpock Jewelry, among others; and "Let's Make," a hands-on exhibit that invited attendees to create art or artisanal food or beverages with local experts.

"What we heard from veterans and new attendees alike is that they loved the new fresh work that they were seeing along with their old favorites," Pamela Diamond, Director of Marketing & Communications at the American Craft Council, told EAL. "Attendance was higher than other years, which was exciting to vendors and show goers who also really felt that the craftsmanship was exceptional this year. There was a real mix of ages who were interested in all things handmade. And everyone loved the "Make Room" showcase and commented on how innovative, creative and well done it was, as well as the newer initiatives "Hip Pop" and "Let's Make."
