Designers Achille Salvagni, Alidad, Sig Bergamin and design team Commune are the newest stars of ELLE DECOR’s A-List. Started in 2010 to recognize the top talents of the industry, the sixth annual list is published in this month’s issue, now on newsstands, celebrating a crop of prominent designers, with other notable honorees including Nate Berkus, Thom Filicia, James Huniford, Celerie Kemble, Kelly Wearstler, Charlotte Moss, Muriel Brandolini, Alexa Hampton and Thomas O’Brien making the 2015 roster.

In addition to the 68 designers recognized on the A List, the magazine also recognizes 12 select “Grand Masters,” including Thomas Britt, Mario Buatta, David Easton, Mica Ertegun, Mariette Himes Gomez, William Hodgins, Peter Marino, Juan Montoya, Charlotte Moss, John Saladino, Rose Tarlow and Bunny Williams as architects and designers “who have defined American style.” The honorees will be feted with a June 2 luncheon at Carnegie Hall. A-List Award winners of years past include 2010 winner Murielle Brandolini, who went on to release her first book the following year; and 2010 honoree Steven Gambrel, who launched his custom furniture website Dering Hall, as well as a collection with Waterworks.

As Editor in Chief of ELLE DECOR Michael Boodro tells EAL of the selection process,  “My editors and I see a great deal of design over the course of the year, and the annual A-List is our carefully curated selection of the best of the best. It is designers we look to for the vision of how life should be lived today and those who breathe new life into great styles of the past. It may not be definitive, but the ELLE DECOR A-List is opinionated, informed and put together with passion, and is a pretty fair summation of how we see the world of interior design.”
