The first Chinese edition of Dutch magazine ‘Connecting the Dots’ has been published and will be distributed during the Business of Design Week in Hong Kong and the Guangzhou Design Week.
The full-color magazine contains information about more than 100 Dutch design studios, architectural firms, institutes and companies active in South China. Articles give insight into the Dutch design culture and the relationship between China and the Netherlands in the area.
The trading relationship between China and the Netherlands is hundreds of years old and is flourishing. This publication, in both Chinese and English, maps out all relevant Dutch organizations and companies active in South China. Connecting the Dots bridges the gap between Dutch and Chinese producers and creative industries.
Interviews with designers and architects provide a first-hand account of their experiences in China. Celebrated Dutch designer Richard Hutten recalls his experiences in China and his involvement with Droog Design in China. An article has also been included by Xu Jingxi about the 600-meter Canton Tower in Guangzhou, designed by Dutchman Mark Hemel.
