World-renowned designer, D.B. Kim, will set the stage for the ambiance, look and feel of the new INSPIREDESIGNTM show, which debuts in Las Vegas at World Market Center Las Vegas in February 1 – 3, 2010.

As an award-winning designer and conceptual and constructive practitioner, Kim was instrumental in heralding a new age of business travel by creating havens away from home. He has been credited with bringing personality and recognition to top hotel brands by challenging the world of hospitality to meet the evolving needs of the modern business traveler. His work on behalf of W, Westin, Starwood Vacation Ownership for Westin and Sheraton has earned him worldwide respect and acclaim.

“My goal for the concept of the INSPIREDESIGNTM pavilion will be nothing more than, like the root of the show’s title—to inspire. If we can tap into the imagination of creative professionals, then not only can we have an inspirational platform for sharing ideas, but also provide a more suitable environment for both buyers and sellers,” said Kim.

“Succinctly, the show will be an option resource for the creation of our future environments. I’ve seen some misdirected design shows in past years that have focused on sales and forgotten that these kinds of shows should inspire, educate, and guide global design lovers,” added Kim.

“We feel truly fortunate and honored that D.B. Kim has agreed to direct the design of the show aesthetic, from the attitude and environment of the show floor to helping us realize and provide a truly inspirational platform for the industry,” said Gerald Seibel, Show Director for INSPIREDESIGNTM at World Market Center Las Vegas. “D.B.’s global views and insights will bring a fresh and unique approach to INSPIREDESIGNTM. We are excited about what he is creating for us and are confident that our attendees and exhibitors will be inspired by the entire INSPIREDESIGNTM environment,” he added.

“I’ve visited and experienced some sophisticated and forward-thinking installations and intelligently conceptualized exhibits in my history as a designer. These kinds of shows have provided me with the fuel to now create an inspiring platform where the North America design community can join other notable progressive shows, like the Salone del Mobile,” said Kim.

INSPIREDESIGNTM is poised to set a new standard for showcasing design in North America and will bring together designers, purchasers, owners, and suppliers for major hospitality and healthcare projects. The show will be held in the sculptural exhibition pavilions located on the expansive 57 acre World Market Center Las Vegas campus, which currently includes more than 5 million square feet of elegant showroom space, state-of-the-art conference rooms and luxurious and spacious common areas with easy access to many world-class Las Vegas resorts.

The inaugural show will be co-located with February’s 2010 Las Vegas Market which will be held concurrently in Buildings A, B and C, on the World Market Center campus. The two shows will benefit from shared transportation services, highly negotiated hotel accommodations and will offer the growing number of designers who attend Las Vegas access to new resources and inspiration on both sides of the design aisle.

The new event is also expected to open up new business opportunities and channels of distribution for existing permanent tenants at World Market Center, of which 63 percent already cater to or have expressed interest in selling into the hospitality marketplace.
