This Friday, six handpicked design and lifestyle bloggers will serve as the host committee and offer a first-look at the home trends coming down the pipeline this season at the Dallas Market Center’s third annual event, Sneak Peek—A Conversation Starter, during the Total Home & Gift Market (Jan 15 – 21). As a “sneak peek” to the Sneak Peek, the Dallas Market has shared three key trends to watch out for throughout market.

The first is “Modern Bohemia,” described as ethnic colors combined with baroque motifs to create a modern, worldly charm.

Next is “Ethereal,” which embodies softness and air, femininity and natural light.

Finally, “Nordic Nature” is a trend that takes a minimal approach to soulful and down-to-earth, folk-inspired design.

Participating blogger and interior designer Denise McGaha has seen increasing use of brass and metal finishes on wood furniture. “I've definitely seen this trend trickle down in the market and it's everywhere now,” she said.

“I am hoping to see more gold in home décor,” said participating blogger Elle Cole. “I absolutely love gold. I was thrilled to see style influencers Aerin Lauder and Tory Burch late in 2013 setting the trend for 2014 with their gold home décor/accessories collections. I'm looking forward to seeing what industry players like Arteriors will introduce in their line this year.”

“For colors; radiant orchid and navy hues will be major trends,” said Cole. “We are seeing a lot of these hues on the runways, in accessories, in home décor—everywhere. Radiant orchid will unify color palettes and navy will bring us back to the classics. These hues have already made their mark in fashion and we'll soon see their influence in our homes from soft accessories to case goods. I am excited to see the innovative ways they will be shown in home décor collections this year and at market.”

The Sneak Peek agenda also includes presentations by interior designer Thomas O’Brien when he discusses his design philosophy and new book, Aero: Beginning to Now, as well as by Alex Hitz, celebrity chef, cookbook author and founder of the luxury gourmet food product line The Beverly Hills Kitchen.

Participating bloggers include Cole of Elle’s Notebook, Kelley Copeland of The Hidden List, Shay Geyer of IBB Design, McGaha of Denise McGaha Interiors, Hilary Walker of Our Style Stories and Leslie Wood of Hadley Court

Registration for Sneak Peek is $50 with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Dwell with Dignity. Long-distance design lovers are encouraged to follow along with Sneak Peek guests by using the #sneakpeek hashtag.
