Two serious offers are said to be on the table for the U.S. magazine group, Hachette Filipacchi Media, according to a report.

Remaining points of contention between prospective buyers and French owner Lagardère include editorial control over its properties, which include Elle Décor, Elle and Women's Day. However, Lagardère’s stock increase of 4.9% shows that investors anticipate a deal in the near future.

In addition to a rumored offer from Hearst, Germany’s Bauer Publications is said to have proposed €650-700 million or $850.3-$915.7 million for the publishing portfolio. Bauer's current portfolio includes a dozen women's magazines including In Touch Weekly, Life & Style Weekly, and Woman's World.
