The Connecticut design community gathered last week at the Greenwich Country Club to celebrate this year’s CTC&G (Connecticut Cottages & Gardens) Innovation in Design awards which honored CEO of Design Within Reach John Edelman as well as seven top designers from across the state.

CTC&G presents the Innovator Award each year to an icon of the design industry—one individual who has achieved an overarching level of innovation and excellence. Past Innovator Award recipients include Jonathan Adler, Bunny Williams, Alexa Hampton and Jamie Drake.

"This award means so much," said Edelman, who was this year's Innovator Award recipient. "It means that people are finally understanding what we are trying to do—make modern design understandable and accessible."

Janice Parker and David Dumasse

Connecticut-based design firms were also given awards including Janice Parker Landscape and Architects for Landscape Architecture; Brooks and Falotico Associates, Inc. for Bathroom Design; MB Interiors for Kitchen Design; Kelly & Co. Design for Interior Design; Joeb Moore + Partners for Architecture; Prutting & Company Custom Builders for the Builder Recognition Award; and Technogel for Innovative Product Design.
