Calling all creative geniuses-in-training: Cooper Hewitt's summer camp is offering weeklong summer camp programming that delves into a range of design challenges. With four programs offered between July 20 and August 14, the camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, and each 25-student camp class is led by two expert design educators.

The four camps include Graphic Design Now; Architecture Unleashed; Wearable Design; and Product Perfect. Graphic Design Now (July 20 to 24) will be led by guest designer Ellen Lupton, senior curator, Contemporary Design, Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, and will show campers how designers use text as image, manipulate scale and tell stories through design. Graphic Design Now is open to children ages 7 to 8, and 9 to 10.

Architecture Unleashed (July 27 to 31) will be led by Nick Richardson and will serve as a crash course in architecture, environment, engineering and technology. It will let campers, ages 7 to 8 and 9 to 10, envision the future of the built environment.

Wearable Design (August 3 to 7) will introduce campers to the texture, pattern, form and structure behind fashion design under the tutelage of Mary Huang of Continuum Fashion. Wearable Design is open to campers age 7 to 8 and 11 to 12.

Product Perfect (August 10 to 14) will be led by guest designer Oscar Lopez and will take campers on a tour of five centuries of product design as showcased in the museum's Making Design collection. Campers will also have the opportunity to design products around a client and design brief. Product Perfect is open to kids ages 9 to 10 and 11 to 12.
