August’s array of auctions highlight works of art, paintings and pieces of furniture, with finds from Christie’s of London, Doyle of New York, Bruun Rasmussen and Bonhams delivering décor hailing from the world over.

Christie's Interiors sale, including 20th - 21st Century Pictures, will begin on August 18 at the auction house's London locale. A set of eight Pirince of Wales Investiture Chairs, a 20th century leather Chesterfield sofa, and portraits by the likes of Guy Gladwell and Peter Howson are on the proverbial auction block.

Doyle New York's renowned Doyle at Home/Annual End of Summer Sale will spotlight items from designer collections, decorations, art from notable estates and collections and furniture on August 12. Some finds: a Hans Wegner Low Table from the 1960s, oil and acrylic paintings from Olivier Foss and Marco Paulo Rolla, and a George III Style Paint Decorated Satinwood Bookshelf, among others. Bruun Rasmussen's August 11 auction, Modern Art and Design, will spotlight hundreds of pieces, among them works of art from Eske Kath, Christian Schmidt-Rasmussen and Johannes Hofmeister. Furniture finds include Danish mahogany and leather chairs,  Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard Nielsen three seater sofa and easy chair,  and a Fredrik A. Kayser East Indian rosewood armchair. Learn more.

The same house will also feature Paintings and Furniture in a smaller August 10 auction, with about 200 pieces, among them a Rococo-style gilt mirror and console from the 19th century, an Egyptian silk carpet, and an selection of elegant chests and commodes. Learn more.

Bonhams’ Art + Decor including the Estate of Gloria Reese will begin on August 17 in Los Angeles, offering buyers an array of landscape paintings and portraits, among themwith represented artists including Paul A. Grimm, Roger Edward Kuntz, William Frederick Ritschel and others. Learn more.
