Trade discounts and assistance with order placement and installation are some of the improvements designers can expect from Arhaus’ new program aimed specifically at the design trade, renamed the Trade Services from Designer Program. Member benefits include discounts on all categories from furniture and accessories to one-of-a-kind antiques and reproductions, and in-store assistance from a dedicated sales associate. This will replace commissions paid based on sales.

“The commissions-driven structure proved not only to be limiting to us but as well as to the designer, and required a great deal of paperwork from both parties,” said Skye Westcott, vice president of interior design and new business development. “We asked designers what they wanted from us as a partner and their response was a full service program with knowledgeable associates in-store to assist them from the beginning of a project to the end, and of course, discounts.”

Members of the program can have notable works promoted on social media outlets, including Arhaus' blog, Greenhaus.

Members of the new program no longer need to track and report sales in return for commission checks. Instead, designers will receive discounts of 40 percent off or regular priced furniture and 20 percent off regular priced accessories, antiques and reproductions on purchases for client projects. In-store services will include assistance with order placement, tracking and delivery, providing custom quotes and memo sampling.

“The goal is to facilitate everything for the designer, to ensure furnishings are ordered to their exact specifications and delivered for the install, and should any issues arise...be on-hand to take care of it.” said Wescott.

Other benefits include a warranty on furniture purchases, post-delivery support from Arhaus, first-hand notification of sales and promotions, access to trade-only events, give-aways and sneak-peeks and promotion of notable work on Arhaus’ social media channels and blog.

In the six months the changes have been implemented, membership to the program has increased by 40 percent. To become a member, designers can apply in-store or online; there is no membership fee.
