Anna by RabLabs upcoming collection debuts in NYC preview
By Staff

Fused from semiprecious gems, gold and sterling silver, the new ANNA NEW YORK by RabLabs home collection will preview fall and holiday collections on July 16 in New York. Some of designer Anna Rabinowicz’s to-be-launched pieces include the Dourado candlesticks, forged of ancient gemstones and originally patterned in electroplated 24-karat gold and pure silver with rough, natural edges, and the Casca Gemstone bowl, a hand-carved bowl crafted of gemstone and pure silver and 24-karat gold. The collection also features Lumino Rose Gold coasters, notable for their rose gold edges, and the Espera Rose Gold bowls, which were inspired by the webbed nature of the sea fan.

“I’m inspired by interesting materials that I find on my travels around the world, and close to home: luminous gems in the dusty, forgotten back room of an artisan in southern Brazil, a porous volcanic rock found on the beach on the big island of Hawaii, an antique rose gold watch that once belonged to my father,” Rabinowicz tells EAL of her influences. “I imagine what I could create with these pieces, and how I could incorporate such ancient materials with modern design. I think about how I can fuse artisanal, handmade production with cutting-edge technology. In order to create designs that are new and fresh, my work is inspired by the tension at these intersections: modern/ancient; high-tech/artisanal; polished/rough. It is at these incongruous intersections that I believe true innovation occurs.”

The collection is available at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and select retailers nationwide, as well as online at anna-newyork.com.
