Moonlight & Magnolias: The opening night party for the 2024 Southeastern Designer Showhouse
On April 17, at the evocatively named Moonlight & Magnolias fete, Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles’ 2024 Southeastern Designer Showhouse opened its doors in the city’s Chastain Park neighborhood. Nearly 300 guests enjoyed an exclusive first look at the Buckhead beauty, including Esteem Media CEO Adam Japko, Dolly Parton creative director Steve Summers and celebrated photographer Harriet Leibowitz. The newly constructed, 10,000-square-foot residence, as envisioned by developer Stan Benecki of Benecki Homes with builder Jason Cole, Amanda Orr of Amanda Orr Architects, Source, and landscape design firm Land Plus, proved to be the perfect staging ground for contemporary interpretations of classic styles. More than a dozen interior designers added their signature stamps to the showhouse, including honorary chairs Mark Williams and Niki Papadopoulos of Williams Papadopoulos Design, Jessica Davis of Atelier Davis, Melanie Turner of Melanie Turner Interiors and Cheryl Luckett of Dwell by Cheryl Interiors. The Avenue Catering prepared the delicious dinner for the festive event.
Now in its ninth year, this spring’s showhouse benefits Atlanta nonprofit Camp Twins Lake, an organization dedicated to providing a traditional camp experience for children with disabilities, disorders and developmental challenges.
“It’s a privilege to debut our ninth annual Southeastern Designer Showhouse in partnership with some of Atlanta’s—and the Southeast’s—design greats,” said Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles publisher Elizabeth Ralls. “It’s tradition that the Atlanta community, and the design community, really rally around the cause each spring, and it’s also an opportunity to introduce so many firsts, in terms of design details, to the Southeastern market.”
The showhouse is open to the public through Sunday, May 12, for tours on Thursdays through Sundays.
