Business of Home editor in chief Kaitlin Petersen teamed up with Four Hands to bring Ask Us Anything, her companion podcast to the biweekly Trade Tales, to a live in-person event hosted at the brand’s flagship showroom in Austin.
Mother-daughter duo Jean Stoffer and Grace Start, of Jean Stoffer Design, and Heather Fujikawa, of House Sprucing, joined Petersen to share their perspective on three anonymously submitted questions. Topics included hiring collaborative team members, discussing changing costs with clients, and scaling projects to other states and locations. More than 50 designers attended the talk, and audience members had a chance to ask questions as well. A reception within the Four Hands showroom followed the discussion, offering guests an opportunity to network and mingle with panelists.
“Partnering with Kaitlin and BOH on the Trade Tales: Ask Us Anything podcast has been a major highlight for our brand,” said Ellie Sanchez, vice president of marketing for Four Hands. “The work that Kaitlin is doing aligns so closely to our own goals in supporting designers throughout their business journey. We’re honored to be part of this work and a host of it in our showrooms. We are so grateful to Kaitlin and our design partners—Jean, Grace and Heather—for making this taping such a success.”
“It was a delight to join Four Hands at their Austin flagship to record a live episode of Ask Us Anything,” said Petersen. “This show is all about solving real-world designer problems—and in this taping, Heather, Jean and Grace did exactly that. Their smart, strategic advice provided the kind of experience-tested guidance that will help other firms solve big challenges. And Four Hands has been an amazing partner, helping BOH launch the podcast this year, so it was extra special to bring this event to their home base and to meet the local design community.”
The conversation was recorded and will be featured in an upcoming episode of the popular podcast.
