Last Thursday in Paris, with the Arc de Triomphe just in view, a group of international designers and creatives gathered for the Gaggenau and Créateurs Design Awards Honors Brunch, a one-of-a-kind event celebrating the inaugural CDA winners and talents from across the design industry.
The German luxury brand hosted the afternoon in chic fashion in its Paris showroom, treating guests to a special meal created by the culinary team of the late French legend Joël Robuchon.
On hand to celebrate were Pierre Yves-Rochon and Annick Rochon, Ryan Korban, Fiona Barratt-Campbell, Elizabeth Steimberg, Peti Lau, Yuri and Meredith Xavier, Lisa Brooke and Bing Bingham.
A live cooking demonstration led by chefs Eric Bouchenoire and Tomonori Danzaki captivated guests, who enjoyed world-class cuisine and a culture of excellence in design. The meal featured salmon tartare with caviar Sologne; scallops in broth with shrimp and shiitakes; and chateaubriand beef and foie gras in a “Rossini” interpretation with old Porto. Champagne was in generous supply, and the afternoon was just indulgent enough.
An early highlight of this year’s Maison&Objet and Paris Déco Off experience, the Gaggenau and CDA Honors Brunch was a celebration of good taste in every form.
