Alfredo Paredes and Kravet Couture celebrate the launch of the Cocuyo fabric collection
On January 21, 2026, Alfredo Paredes, alongside Cary Kravet and Kravet Couture, welcomed over 120 friends and colleagues from the design community to Paredes’s New York studio for an intimate cocktail party celebrating the debut of their new fabric collaboration, Cocuyo.
The after-dark gathering transformed the studio into an immersive showcase of the collection: Fabrics were draped across tables, upholstered onto furniture, and integrated into thoughtful vignettes—allowing guests to tangibly experience the artistry inherent in the textiles. Even the evening’s waitstaff became part of the presentation by wearing custom aprons crafted from Cocuyo fabrics, reinforcing the event’s layered, experiential approach.
Inspired by Paredes’s Spanish heritage and global travels, Cocuyo is characterized by earthy, grounded hues and richly textured materials, including plush chenilles, nubby boucles, robust weaves and structured jacquards. The presentation mirrored the collection’s ethos: a balance of modern luxury and enduring craftsmanship.
Guests enjoyed Milagro tequila cocktails and abundant charcuterie platters by Jean’s NYC, rounding out an evening that felt both festive and personalized—an elegant introduction to a collection rooted in story, texture and place.
“Cocuyo is deeply personal for me,” said Paredes. “It reflects the places I come from, the places I’ve traveled, and the textures that have stayed with me along the way. Partnering with Kravet Couture allowed us to bring that story to life in a way that feels both timeless and tactile. We were thrilled to introduce this collection first in New York City, a place that has shaped so much of my creative journey.”
