On April 8, the Dallas design community came together for a stellar solar soiree hosted by The Shade Store and Kravet. This exclusive gathering offered designers the unique opportunity to observe the rare solar eclipse from the rooftop of Dec on Dragon, where they enjoyed breathtaking panoramic views. Designers mingled, networked and soaked in the singular event. As the eclipse reached its peak, it left a lasting impression on all who were part of the extraordinary experience.
The celebration was inspired by the latest collection of Brunschwig & Fils wallpaper and fabrics—aptly dubbed Celeste—as well as the innovative solar shade solutions from The Shade Store.
“We were honored to share this once-in-a-lifetime moment with our partners at Kravet and local Dallas designers,” said Bethany Reynolds Enstice, area sales manager for The Shade Store. “Not only did we enjoy the pause from a busy Monday and have a little fun, but we had the privilege of gathering as a community and connecting on a human level—truly an experience we will never forget.”
“It was spectacular to share such an awe-inspiring event with our friends, clients and colleagues,” said Kelly Von Pond, vice president of sales, Southwest region, at Kravet. “Everyone was silent in amazement when the darkness of totality fell over the Dallas skyline and the clouds parted for a perfect view. We thank our Dallas design community for joining us for such a special occasion.”
An exclusive collection of prints, embroideries, weaves and wallcoverings, Celeste by Brunschwig & Fils evokes an ethereal allure that transforms living spaces into dreamscapes. The collection features toiles depicting the constellations of the zodiac as well as motifs found in Japanese decorative arts, complemented by glamorous textural weaves and luxurious dimensional velvets. To protect furniture, flooring and decor from fading, The Shade Store’s solar shade collection provides versatile options that soften natural light, reduce glare and block up to 99 percent of UV rays—the perfect combination of style and functionality.
