Houzz last week launched Sketch, an app feature that lets users choose a photo, add products from the Houzz Marketplace to it, and edit it using a number of tools. Sketch also allows multiple people to collaborate in real time by simultaneously annotating the same photo.
“People use the Houzz app at all stages of a home project, whether they’re looking for design inspiration, hiring a home professional, shopping, or collaborating with others through ideabooks,” said Alon Cohen, president and co-founder of Houzz. “We’re always looking for ways to make the home renovation and design process even more fun and productive. Sketch is a powerful new function in the Houzz app that enables people to add products from Houzz to any photo, and to communicate and collaborate more effectively through photos with their home professional or others involved in the project.”
Sketch allows users to experiment with different decor options by dropping and sizing products and materials sourced from the Houzz Marketplace into photos. App users can also write, type or sketch on the images, such as noting dimensions of a room; placing stickers to make notes; working with dozens of mood boards and floor plans; and communicating via push notifications with others working on the same project.
The Houzz app with the new Sketch feature is available for free download on the App Store.
