A new Sr Interior Designer with at least 7-10+ rigorous years of experience, with multiple years at the same firm, is sought to be added to our team. We are a boutique Residential Interior Design firm focused on full-scale projects in NYC, and beyond. The ideal new designer will be very comfortable crafting elegant furniture plans, can take the lead from the Principal and follow through to complete designs with a team approach. They will lead on finalizing presentation materials, fine-tuning all specifications, budget balancing and creating and overseeing presentation of product proposals. They will work with our Project Coordinators as needed and will oversee installations. Knowledge of Interior Architecture and Detailing is important to us, we would love to see applicant's experience in this area. Applicant must be willing to be client-facing, will interact with all involved on projects, and will be a clear, organized conduit of information, throughout the design and construction process.
Our ideal candidate is a natural in design, and is inspired by all corners and cultures of the design world. We find the following qualifications to be very helpful:
-Prefer a 4-year BFA/BS in Interior Design or a 2 year Master's in Interior Design.
-Must be able to efficiently work in AutoCAD, being able to produce elegant furniture plans and considered millwork, bath and kitchen designs.
-Ideally can work in Sketch Up or can hand draw, to quickly communicate ideas internally during the design process.
-Must know Studio Designer software and be able to produce regular project reports.
-Candidates should demonstrate a solid knowledge of the sourcing landscape, both with leading industry partners and smaller off-the-beaten path vendors.
-Must be well practiced in listening to the client, responding to their cues, and will be able to design through the prism of our firm's approach.
-Lastly, we look for those that will be able to contribute to an upbeat, positive and fast paced office, and be open to learning from, and along with us.
In addition, we ask that team members be:
-Able to drive and have a US Driver's License
-Legally able to work in US
-Fluent in English and be a clear communicator
-Must be Well organized
-Be a Team Player
-Be willing to work in our NYC office, and to regularly travel to projects in the Northeast.
Our Office Environment:
-We believe in in-person work, we connect and create better. We also enjoy flexibility. At times, remote work at home is fine for mature team members, once a flow and communication style is achieved.
-Candidates must be comfortable at job sites
-Applicants should have a preference to work with a core group of 3-4 team members.
