Job Description

Seeking an Experienced Interior Designer based in northern NJ or NYC with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in residential interior design, with project management, construction and renovation experience.

Our ideal candidate has hands-on FF&E and construction experience and feels comfortable taking the lead to run a project from concept to completion. This role will require our candidate to be proactive, extremely organized, and detail oriented. Candidate should be confident and comfortable working amongst clients, trades, and vendors independently, and comfortable working within a fast paced (but fun!) culture.

This role will work directly with the Principle as well as team members. This is an in person/ hands-on position that will require the successful candidate to be physically present on site at job locations. A car, or consistent access to a reliable car is required.

Job Responsibilities:

Accountability and ownership of multiple interior design/construction projects including but not limited to:

• Oversee construction management process via site visits and regular check-ins with principals.

• Develop project documentation including floorplans, elevations, FF&E and comprehensive finish schedules, and all corresponding construction documentation.

• Develop graphic and visual presentations in partnership with principal designers, and associate design team.

• Prepare and maintain project budgets and timelines of varying scope.

• Sourcing of furniture, fabrics, lighting and finishes; including architectural finish materials

Job Requirements

Must Have Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree, Degree or Certificate in Interior Design.

• Minimum 5+ years in work experience in residential interior design, construction knowledge and experience a must.

• Must be based in northern NJ and or NYC, and willingness to travel to job sites across both locations as needed.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with Ivy.

• Organizational skills, strong time management and project management skills. Efficiency is a must to meet critical deadlines.

• Experience and comfort working in a dynamic, team oriented, and fast-paced environment with ever-changing deadlines.

• Must be ready to oversee and manage four or more projects of varying scopes simultaneously.

• Experience in client service.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable, consistent access to a car or own your own car.

• Authorization to work in the US.

Additional skills desired:

• Familiarity with Canva and InDesign

Compensation: Commensurate with experience, please be prepared to share salary expectations. Eligible for bonus compensation depending on firm’s performance
