Job Description

We are currently seeking an Operations and Production Manager. This role will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the furniture manufacturing process to ensure high-quality products are delivered on time and within budget. Working closely with the Sales Manager and vendors, this role plays a key part in ensuring customer satisfaction while managing resources efficiently. The Production Manager is hands-on and collaborative, as the team operates in a small, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Coordination
*Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer delivery timelines.
*Collaborate with the Sales Manager to align production priorities with customer orders.
*Monitor production progress and address any delays or challenges promptly.

Bookkeeping & Administrative Support
*Perform light bookkeeping duties, including managing purchase orders and handling accounts payable (AP) responsibilities.

Quality Control
*Ensure furniture products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
*Conduct regular inspections during production to maintain consistency and address issues.
*Manage rework or repair processes as needed.

Inventory & Materials Management
*Monitor inventory levels and coordinate material orders to prevent shortages or overstock.
*Maintain accurate records of materials and finished goods.
*Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and negotiate cost-effective solutions.

Process Improvement
*Identify and implement improvements in production workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Collaboration with Sales
*Partner with the Sales Manager to provide updates on production timelines and capacity.
*Assist in resolving production-related issues impacting sales or delivery schedules.

Job Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in production management or coordination, preferably within the furniture or manufacturing industry.
* Strong understanding of furniture production processes (e.g., woodworking, upholstery, finishing).
* Comfortable using spreadsheets to manage timelines and payments
* Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment.
* Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with the Sales Manager and suppliers.

Working Conditions:
* Partially remote with flexibility to work from home as desired.
* Primarily based in the showroom office, with weekly (or as needed) visits to local production facility.
* Occasional travel for supplier or client visits as required.
