McGrath II, a high-end interior design firm and studio shop based in New York City, seeks a detail-oriented and technically skilled Junior Project Manager for a full-time position based in the New York office, supporting the firm’s project managers, senior designers as well as the senior partners at our office. This role may require travel to project sites. This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation, paid vacation, and holidays.
Requirements
- MUST have excellent CAD skills
- AAS degree, or other BA
- Experience with Studio Designer software is a plus
- Must be very detail-oriented, organized, and willing to step in when needed with a can-do attitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of residential interior architecture and design industry standards
- Experience in coordinating with contractors, vendors, and clients.
- Understanding of the design process, from concept development to installation
- Knowledge of materials, furnishings and construction methods related to interior design
- Knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements is preferred, but not required
Responsibilities include:
- Drafting furniture plans, millwork, and elevations
- Preparation of proposals and purchase orders using Studio Designer software
- Procuring estimates from trades and vendors
- Monitoring, tracking, and following up on the progress of all orders and purchases to ensure timelines are met
- Keeping clear and accessible records of design decisions and purchases
- Organizing all global shipping and logistics, including the creation of all documents and import/export procedures
- Identifying errors or discrepancies in order; following up on solutions with vendors
- Addressing damage issues and follow-up on repairs/replacements
- Preparation of client presentations using InDesign
- Liaise with project teams to fully understand project requirements, timelines and approvals, and shipping methods to successfully deliver
