Job Description

As a Junior Interior Designer at Gina Holz Designs, you will play a vital role in contributing to the success of our high-profile interior design projects. You will work under the guidance of senior design professionals to create luxurious and distinctive spaces that meet and exceed our clients' expectations. Your creative input and attention to detail will be instrumental in curating a blend of calming and dramatic spaces for our esteemed clientele. This position is full-time in our Melrose Ave. office.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Development: Collaborate with senior designers to develop creative design concepts and mood boards for various projects, ensuring they align with client preferences and the firm's aesthetic.
Space Planning: Contribute to space planning, layout design, and furniture placement to optimize functionality and aesthetics.
Material and Finish Selection: Assist in selecting materials, finishes, furnishings, and decorative items that harmonize with the design vision while adhering to project budgets.
3D Rendering: Create 3D renderings and presentation materials to communicate design ideas effectively to clients and team members.
Client & Vendor Interaction: Participate in client meetings, presentations, and site visits, actively engaging with clients to understand their needs and preferences. Act as Gina Holz Designs’ liaison with vendors and contractors, including visits to project sites and vendor workrooms to check progress of fabrication and construction.
Documentation: Assist in preparing construction documents, specifications, and drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Product Sourcing: Research and source furniture, fixtures, and decor items from vendors and suppliers, maintaining knowledge of the latest design trends and products.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with the project management team to ensure projects are executed efficiently, meeting deadlines and budgets.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in architecture, Interior Design, or construction, or equivalent work experience.
1-3 years experience in a small to midsize professional service firm.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, and Google Workspace. Knowledge of Studio Designer is a plus.
A proficient level of experience in interior design concepts such as space planning, furniture, fixtures, and product research.
Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, and furniture.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Knowledge of FF&E and furniture specifications. Good understanding of space planning, millwork, etc. Ability to complete work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Self-motivated, eager to learn, and a team player. Skilled problem solver.
Aesthetics to match design studio. Must have excellent taste.
Must be able to safely lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
