Position Overview
The Junior Designer will assist the Principal Designer and project team throughout all phases of residential design, from design development through client presentations and implementation. This role requires strong organizational skills, technical proficiency, creativity, and critical thinking within a collaborative boutique studio environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Principal Designer with project management and daily project coordination
• Support design development, including material, finish, and FF&E selections
• Prepare pricing, schedules, and client approval packages using Studio Designer software
• Produce and revise drafting drawings and SketchUp models
• Create and edit client presentations using PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite
• Coordinate with vendors, showrooms, and trade partners
• Maintain accurate project documentation, specifications, and schedules
• Provide a high level of client service support consistent with a boutique firm culture
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture
• Working knowledge of Studio Designer software preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or drafting, with SketchUp experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Creative, detail-oriented, and capable of strong critical thinking
• Comfortable working in a small, collaborative, client-focused studio
