Job Description

Position Summary
Oversees the operations of the Finance Department, which includes financial reporting and planning, monthly and annual closing process, budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, and other financial matters.

Responsibilities and Duties
 Responsible for financial reporting and performance analysis
 Manages monthly, quarterly and year end close
 Works with several levels of management including project managers and principals at the firm
 Oversees employees responsible for financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.
 Identifies training needs in the department.
 Coordinates the firms’ financial planning, budgeting, and investment activities.
 Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
 Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
 Ensures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
 Evaluating accounting and internal control systems and offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
 Advises departments on and assists with the implementation of accounting and budgeting policies.
 Confirms accuracy and oversees filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports with various government agencies.
 Coordinates the establishment of the firm's annual budget. Summarizes the budget requests of other departments and committees of the firm.
 Oversees and streamlines bimonthly client billing and collections processes and maintains a clean aging report; regularly collecting on open invoices to decrease the average days invoices are outstanding.
 Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting team.
 Performs other related duties as assigned including general operations, human resources, and risk management areas.

Job Requirements

The HA Controller must possess the following qualifications:
 Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited four-year college or university.
 Ten years of accounting/finance experience.
 Excellent communication skills
 High proficiency in spreadsheet and accounting software and Microsoft Office.
 Excellent organizational and time management skills.
 The proven ability to work effectively with a variety of creative and administrative colleagues as well as consultants, vendors and clients.
 High personal and professional standards, intelligence and initiative, attention to detail, creative problem-solving abilities, and communication skills.
 A team-oriented “can-do” spirit, a sense of humor and the ability to create and sustain a fun working environment.

The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $130,000.
