Caliente announced as Color of the Year

At the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City, Benjamin Moore announced Caliente AF-290 as its Color of the Year for 2018. Over the last year, the Benjamin Moore Color and Design Team traveled to 12 countries, visiting 30 cities to suss out color trends for the upcoming year, which led to its selection of Caliente. Over 500 guests were in attendance for the reveal, including Jamie Drake, Caleb Anderson, Bachman Brown Clem, Brad Ford, Nicole Gibbons, Mark Cunningham, Ashley Darryl, John Douglas Eason and James Huniford.

“What we’ve observed, more than anything else this year is that ‘color is voice.’ The color red communicates change, strength, drama, happiness and confidence,” says Ellen O’Neill, director of Strategic Design Intelligence at Benjamin Moore. “We chose Caliente AF-290 as the Benjamin Moore Color of the Year 2018 because this particular shade has the versatility to energize a space as well as make rooms intimate. Like ‘red carpet treatment,’ something special always happens in a red room.”
