As part of its Emerging Designer Event Series, ASID NY Metro hosted a tour of the Carpenters Workshop Gallery in New York City. The New York location is its third, following the original gallery in London and one in Paris. Gallery director Ashlee Harrison led 20 attendees on a tour of the current exhibition “Art | Light” and the “living room,” a penthouse with 30-foot ceilings. Bonnie Hoeker, ASID NY Metro student representative, and Glenn Gissler, ASID NY Metro president, hosted the guests.
“It was wonderful to host such a charismatic and dynamic group of young professionals,” says Harrison. “We have a very unique program at the gallery: We are a platform for highly crafted, very sculptural design and furniture pieces. The evening opened our world of collectible contemporary design to a new generation of interior designers. I think it was both educational and fun.”
