Jenn Gibbs, senior vice president of design, spoke with Business of Home about her inspiration for and favorite highlights from the spring 2023 collection.
What’s the inspiration behind the new collection?
The collection is about bringing nature into the home through textures and natural materials translated into modern architectural shapes.
What piece are you most excited to unveil?
I’m especially excited about our Laurel sofa. It has the perfect blend of soft curves with clean modern lines and a universal appeal that can work in a myriad of aesthetics, from formal to relaxed. It’s a comfortable, versatile piece that begs you to curl up in it with a good book.
What about the collection feels fresh and exciting?
This season we experimented with new shapes that break out from the ordinary. Rooted in geometric forms, many of our pieces play off the combination of straight and curved lines.
Tell us about the materials. Are certain ones the highlight of a particular piece?
One highlight is the natural cork on our new Ambrose accent table collection. The cork is dyed and backed with a metallic paper that peeks through the naturally occurring voids in the material, giving it a sparkle. Our new Telluride accent tables feature Omani marble that is polished on top to show off its spectacular veining, which reminds me of fossils, combined with a hand-hammered edge that recalls jagged sea cliffs. The table bases are FSC-certified teak with no added finish, which allows the natural beauty of the wood to show through. And an extra bonus: You can use Telluride pieces in covered outdoor areas.
Can the collection be customized? What kind of options are possible?
All our sustainably hand-crafted, American-made upholstery can be customized with our extensive selection of fabrics, leathers and wood finishes, as well as COM. Endless possibilities! Our modular collections make it easy to create seating for any space. And we offer table and storage collections with your choice of size, top and finish.

The Laurel collection combines a refined look with luxe comfort. Sophisticated yet casual, the low-slung sofa is cozy for conversing or reclining. Create a more relaxed or elegant look, depending on your fabric or leather choice. Shown with the Addie side table in new Spruce finish.
Offered in two sizes, the Laurel sofa has a slender curved back, graceful slope arms with pin-tuck details, generous knife-edge back cushions and a plush bench seat. It is sustainably hand-crafted by skilled artisans in North Carolina.
New: the Burgess swivel chair, seen at left. Sustainably hand-crafted by skilled artisans in North Carolina, this midcentury-inspired swivel has a comfortable club chair feel. Side-mounted upholstered arms are one hallmark of its modern style. Paired here with the Clifton sectional.
Perfect additions: the Ambrose collection of modern accent tables in cork. With inviting curves, clean lines and rich materiality, they add subtle pattern and color to a room. Seen here with the Keaton sleeper sofa and Poppy swivel chair.
Wrapped in tiles of thinly sliced cork over a metallic substrate, these five Ambrose accent tables come in two beautiful finishes that let subtle sheen show through. Metal trim completes the look. Tempered-glass tops included.
From celebrated designer Brigette Romanek, the Lucy swivel chair brings a statement-making focal point to a room. Two rows of distinctive bolster-like cushioning reflect its Art Deco influences. Customizable in fabric or leather and set on a round metal swivel base available in a choice of finishes.
The versatile Addie side table and pull-up table, at home in both contemporary and traditional spaces, is now customizable in five new finishes: Keep it classic with White, Pumice or Matte Black. Try Navy or Pine for a fashion-forward look.
Modern luxury: Above the curved Davies console in brass-trimmed vegan leather hangs the Round mirror from the new five-piece Chesapeake collection. Hand-made in brushed brass, the design incorporates simple rivets for a subtle industrial edge that evokes the portholes of a ship.
Scandi-inspired, the Reyes dining table is exquisitely crafted in white oak. Rounded edges and a tapered base give it a relaxed feel that’s reiterated by the textural Reyes console. Shown here with Keane chairs in a Kravet fabric, one of many styles that complement it.
Appealing on its own or paired with the Reyes dining table, the Reyes console channels Scandinavian design with a silhouette exquisitely crafted from white oak in a pleasing contrast of clean lines and textural carved doors.
Modern lines meet natural materials in this new extension table from the Tate collection. In oak with a rich carbon finish, it has a sleek yet substantial pedestal base and a striking sunburst pattern on top. Add the Tate buffet to complete a dining room.
Organic yet modern, the Tate buffet features a rich mix of materials. Woven cane door panels bestow natural texture and an airy feel to the Carbon-finished curved oak cabinet. Pair it with the Tate dining table for a cohesive look.
