Punk.London will recognize four decades of design, music, culture, art, politics and fashion via a schedule of events, gigs, exhibitions, performances and film unfolding throughout this year. Some of the highlights:
Punk Fest at the Design Museum (June 25 to 26), an event with fanzine-making workshops, music, spoken word and other offerings that will also serve as a farewell to the museum, which is closing its doors
A punk display at the Museum of London (June and July), highlighting an exhibit of clothes, fanzines, photographs and ephemera
The Stoke Newington Literary Festival (June 3 to 5), which will explore how punk, reggae and ska impacted design, fashion, film and politics
The event is supported by some of the city’s top cultural institutions, among them British Fashion Council, British Film Institute, British Library, Design Museum, Doc’n Roll Films, Institute of Contemporary Arts, Live Nation Merchandise, Museum of London, The Photographers’ Gallery, PYMCA, Premier PR and On|Off, Rough Trade, Roundhouse and Universal Music Catalogue.
