While at market in Las Vegas last month, WithIt—the Women’s Leadership Development Network—presented its 2015 WOW Awards to stand-out women like Carolyn Kinder and Libby Langdon.

The annual WOW Awards honor the achievements of women who embody the organization's mission—to encourage and develop leadership, mentoring, education and networking opportunities for professional women in the home and furnishings industries.

WithIt presented its prestigious Legacy Award to Kinder, founder and chief executive of Carolyn Kinder, Inc. for her lifetime contributions to the home furnishings industry.

Other honorees recognized at the event:

Langdon, president of Libby Interiors, Inc., received the Leadership Award, which goes to a woman over 40 who has demonstrated successful leadership in her company, WithIt and the home furnishings industry. Throughout her career, Langdon has created a successful interior design business, worked on numerous product lines for companies including Crystorama and Walmart.com, worked on a design television show for NBC and is the author of Libby Langdon’s Small Space Solutions.

Lorri Kelley and Julia Marks

Lorri Kelley, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Palliser, was presented the Mentoring Award for her efforts to foster advocacy, development and promotion of women in her company and the industry. Kelley began her career as a sales representative for companies including Thomasville Furniture and Bernhardt before elevating to hire level positions including Senior Vice President of Rowe Furniture and Wynwood Furniture, before landing at Palliser.

Julia Marks, chief visionary officer of Picture Source, was awarded the Future Leader Award, which is bestowed upon a woman younger than 40 years old who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and the potential to become an industry leader. Marks has lent her talents to various companies throughout her career, she began with Picture Source in 2001 as an Art Consultant, then moved on to work for Hatch Purchasing and Fiori Artes before going back to Picture Source as chief visionary officer.

Deb Barrett

Deb Barrett, principal of Window Dressings, received the Education Award for her efforts to educate associates, retailers and consumers about home furnishings. Barrett’s passion and expertise lies within window treatments, creating custom, couture and unique window dressings. She is a five-time winner of the Window Fashions Design Competition, an author of two books and a design consultant, speaker and blogger.
