The Royal Institute of British Architects has announced this year’s 46 RIBA National Awards winners, among them: The Middle East Centre at St. Antony’s College and the Investcorp Building by the late Zaha Hadid; Sir John Soane’s Museum by Julian Harrap Architects; The Avenue, a housing development by Pollan Thomas Edwards; and Heart of Campus at Nottingham Trent University by Evans Vettori Architects.

RIBA president Jane Duncan, said that the award winners exemplify current trends in the industry: “The RIBA National Awards are a great indicator of U.K. design, economic and construction trends. One standout trend from this year’s crop of winners is the huge scale of investment and ambition shown by many of the U.K.’s universities and colleges; almost one quarter of the winning projects (11 buildings) are in this category.”
