Pop-up round up: Herman Miller, Liz O'Brien, iGet.it

1stDibs at NYDC will present an assortment of Upper East Side dealer Liz O'Brien's vintage merchandise and a larger offering of Editions, her new line of upholstered furniture, case goods, mirrors and lamps. The stand will be open between May 9 and June 4 (except Sundays).

From May 10 through July 1, the Herman Miller pop-up shop on 68 Wooster Street will present the first public showing of the expanded Herman Miller Collection, inspired by the 1952 writings of George Nelson, the company's director of design at the time.

The shop will feature lifestyle vignettes utilizing both existing and a brand-new product assortment designed to inspired designers, consumers and commercial audiences. Some of the newest offerings include works by Magis and Mattiazzi, the company's Italian alliance partners, whose roster of talented designers includes: Konstantin Grcic, Jasper Morrison, Ronan and Erwin Bouroullec, Naoto Fukasawa, Marcel Wanders, Kim Collin and Sam Hecht.  Also on view will be new designs for the Herman Miller Collection by Ayse Birsel and Bibi Seck, Leon Ransmeier, Sam Hecht and Kim Collin.

In addition to the furniture and accessories sale, design-focused programming will take place throughout the show.

To mark its first major foray into the US market, iGet.it will open its first physical venue, an exclusive New York pop-up shop with hand-picked design products, new offerings and design discoveries available to the public. Launched in fall 2011, the members-only, flash-sale site offers designer products hand-picked by renowned international curators.

The pop-up shop is curated by iGet.it New York-based collaborators Josée Lepage and Alissia Melka-Teichroew, and brands presented will include A Lab on Fire, Microvision, byamt and Presso, as well as exclusive products from new partnerships with David Trubridge, Liam Hopkins, Shonquis Moreno, Philip Mohr and Busso. The pop-up shop will be located near the main entrance of the Terminal Stores/The Tunnel, 269 11th Avenue (at West 28th Street), as part of the WantedDesign off-site fair. It will be open from May 19-21, from 10am-7pm, running concurrently with the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF).
