Northeastern designers reimagine chairs for Take A Seat

A selection of New England’s designers, architects and builders will debut chairs next week for the regional IFDA Take A Seat exhibition, which this year benefits the Women’s Institute for Housing and Economic Development. The chairs will be auctioned off at a June 1 gala at the deCordova Sculpture Park & Museum.

Among others, participating designers and firms include Melinda Cox of Balanced Design, who repurposed a 1970s-era velvet armchair; Woodmeister Master Builders, which reimagined a chair with missing front legs; and Salem Plumbing Supply, which drew inspiration from the its plumbing materials.
