It’s been a great week for design lovers. From biodegradable performance vinyl to recycled wool-and-silk rugs, here are some of the best launches in Chicago and beyond.

NuStory’s collaboration with the Brownstone Boys is a love letter to New York’s architecture. The collection, called Gilded, translates an assortment of historic building details—such as plaster moldings and carved fretwork—into seven heirloom-quality rugs, including the pure wool, wainscot-style Study; the hand-loomed, ceiling medallion–esque Parlor; and the Bodega Rug, a cobalt stunner made from recycled PET with a key pattern inspired by the city’s classic to-go coffee cups.

Hyphyn, a state-of-the-art line of biodegradable performance vinyls by New York–based upholstery manufacturer Nassimi, made its debut at NeoCon, where it was featured at the Sustainability Lab. Available in 12 patterns and more than 175 colorways, the innovative range is crafted using a proprietary resin formula—which provides commercial-grade toughness sans the hazardous chemicals or microplastics—and a patented enzyme system that allows it to naturally decompose in about two years without harming the environment.

Patterson Flynn tapped Alfredo Paredes for a pattern-rich collaboration. The launch offers eight statement-making handmade rug designs adorned with bold graphic motifs, including the vintage notebook–inspired Alphabet Soup; the striped La Zebra; the Japanese boro–esque Nagoya; and the expressive La Amapola, a botanical beauty composed of recycled wool and silk.

Lawson-Fenning teamed up with Josh Greene on the Agapanthus collection. The 14-piece furniture line spans case goods, seating and tables punctuated by sculptural silhouettes and touchable materials, with standouts such as the geometric, solid wood Parma side table; the tufted Fairview sofa; and the walnut-and-white-oak Ashbourne dresser, which boasts chamfered edges and an optional stone top.

Zak+Fox released its third collection of outdoor-friendly textiles. In addition to the striped Pharos and the checked Sommar, newcomers include the rippling Koi, the herringbone Pineta, the embroidery-esque Ophir, the pixelated Fen, the multitonal Thalassa and the undulating Kaamos.

Jake Arnold rolled out his second collection for Lulu and Georgia. An homage to 17th and 18th century English architecture, the series features 14 exclusive wallcoverings and carpets. Among the highlights are the ultradimensional, handwoven jute Clairmont rug and the dainty floral Bamonte, a highly touchable paper made with textile strings.

High-end flooring brand Parador made a dazzling stateside debut at NeoCon. Introductions included everything from the eco-conscious Modular One range—a durable, plasticiser-free design that evokes real wood—to chevron-esque, engineered oak styles and the stone-like Marble Abbey White, a waterproof vinyl tile with a warm underfoot and a textured finish.

Studio McGee unveiled its highly anticipated collaboration with The Shade Store. Available in roman shades, drapery, cornices and pillows, the Americana-fueled line offers seven timeless patterns: the tartan Field Plaid, the floral Wildvine, the banded Gypsum Stripe, the checkered Galley Gingham, the two-tone Ticking Stripe, the subtly distressed Stonewash, and the tactile Textured Multiweave.

Collectible design lovers, rejoice! Maiden Home dropped a three-piece line of cast glass furniture. The artisan-crafted collection, named Rene, features a coffee table, side table and drink table outfitted in hand-poured, tinted glass tops and dimensional blackened steel bases.

Clé introduced the Ophelia into its handmade Clé Guild line. An ode to the Hudson River School, the collection offers 15 colorfully glazed, thin brick tiles in hues that draw from the mid-19th-century movement’s luminous landscape paintings. The new tiles range from the lush green Catskill Clove to the dark navy Niagara Blue and the warm pinkish red Dutchess Rose.
