The 41st Annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House benefitting Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club will be held at the Sharp Townhouse at 161 East 64th Street, May 7 through June 4.

The exquisite character of this grand house will provide a unique foundation for designers, and we are excited to see how they approach this year’s challenge with their own designs.”
Built in 1899 and measuring approximately 7,000 square feet, the Sharp Townhouse features a limestone façade in the Federal style which stands out on the beautiful and quiet Manhattan street. Lofty ceilings, a graceful bronze and wrought-iron staircase, a stately dining room overlooking a two-story atrium, floor-to-ceiling windows and skylights inviting in natural light, and a private courtyard complete this unique home, while amenities including marble bathrooms, three ornate wood-burning fireplaces, an elevator, and two terraces overlooking magnificent views of the Upper East Side and Central Park add to its opulence.
The homeowner is Richard Sharp, a partner at the Milbank Tweed law firm. Mr. Sharp, an avid collector of Hudson River School art, is Chairman of the Board of The Olana Partnership, the non-profit support arm of Frederic Church’s Olana.
The participating designers will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tuesday, April 16 – Annual President’s Dinner honoring Jennifer Steinbrenner; The New York Yankees; and Susan Henshaw Jones, Ronay Menschel Director and President of the Museum of the City of New York at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel; 7:00-10:00p.m.
Monday, May 6 – Opening Night Cocktails; Location TBA; 5:00-9:00 p.m.
Tuesday, May 7 – Tuesday, June 4 – Kips Bay Decorator Show House open to the public (Monday, Wednesday, Friday-Sunday: 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday: 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.); Tickets to tour the Show House are $35.
