More than 500 industry producers, artisans and craftsmen in the hospitality industry welcomed designers and buyers to Miami Beach last month for the semi-annual HD Boutique show, put on by the Hospitality Design Group.

The show’s success was due in part to significant growth in attendance from North America, Central America, South America, the Caribbean and beyond. In response to this trend, HD Boutique will change its name to HD Americas in 2013.

Latin American Owners Prospective Panel

“We were thrilled that this year launched us into the ever-growing Latin American design community. We saw industry leaders, designers and buyers representative of this demographic, and we received great insight as to where trends are heading into the new year,” said Liz Sommerville, director of HD Boutique.

“Those in the industry looking for thoughtful, innovative products in these regions simply do not have the resources locally,” said David Ashen, principal at Ashen Designs in New York and part-time resident of Colombia. “HD Americas will provide these creative types.”

Next year, the Hospitality Design Group shows will include: Hospitality Design Exposition & Conference at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, May 15-17, 2013; HD Americas at the Miami Beach Convention Center, September 24-25, 2013; and HD Asia in Southeast Asia.
