High end residential interior design firm with offices in Ipswich, Massachusetts and San Francisco is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to join our team. The Specialist will coordinate furniture and decor purchasing to ensure a successful project timeline for projects around the US. The Specialist will also assist the design team as needed and manage our design library.
- Create purchase orders in Studio Designer and execute purchases. Record all acknowledgments, lead times, and delivery dates.
- Track all shipments ensuring progress toward agreed lead time; handle damage claims; actively communicate with receiver and designer to flag any discrepancies or open items and resolve them.
- Synchronize all deliveries, inspections and other project logistics to ensure a smooth installation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to support efficient procurement and pricing.
- Reconcile purchase orders with invoices and payments to ensure data accuracy.
- Support the creation and management of furniture budgets.
- Support the design team as needed in obtaining pricing and product information, creating design boards, preparing schedules, and sourcing.
- Maintain organization of office and design library.
Hours:
25-40 hours/week (flexible for part or full time)
Monday through Thursday in person in Ipswich, MA
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 2 years experience working in interior design, with experience in purchasing and procurement.
- Strong knowledge of interior design principles and processes.
- Extremely detail-oriented and organized.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with Studio Designer and InDesign software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Familiarity with construction timelines and project management workflows.
Salary is commensurate with experience. Candidate must be either a U.S. citizen or have a valid employment visa to work in the U.S. and be presently located in the Boston area.
