As the first international trade show of the year, Heimtextil is primed to showcase 2015's freshest textiles, wallpaper, and linens. From Jan. 14 to Jan. 17 in Frankfurt, Germany, showgoers should also be on the lookout for four bold trends the Heimtextil design team has deemed notable this year.
The theme word of Heimtextil 2015 is “experience,"which show organizers define as “everything that revolves around our sensory experiences of the textile worlds. Those that stimulate our five senses and trigger feelings inside of us that inspire us emotionally.”
Heimtextil 2015 trends
The experience theme reflects in the show's four major trend highlights: the Sensory trend (delicate, somewhat clinically cool colors with beautiful names such as Whisper White, Spa Blue and Moonstruck), the Mixology trend (contrasting dynamics, bright colors and ethnic patterns), the Discovery trend (elements that evoke strong feelings with pronounced fabric structures and colors such as black, purple and silver) and the Memory trend (he picturesque and the romantic, with saturated colors such as True Navy and Scarlet Sage as well as floral still lives and historic themes). “All of these textile trends have one thing in common,” writes the design team, “a yearning to satisfy one's desire for well-being and luxury.”

“Our aim is to offer the international sector not only the most comprehensive range of products, but also the earliest possible overview of tomorrow’s themes and trends,” said Olaf Schmidt, VP of textiles and textile technologies at Heimtextil. “I am confident that Heimtextil 2015 will achieve this goal, an optimism that is reinforced by the positive echo from the exhibitor side and our plans for a new, lavish trend area.”
These four trends will be seen in the booths of more than 2,000 exhibitors representing the window, upholstery, floors, walls and sun-protection segments, as well as bathroom, bedroom and table textile industries.

For the first time this year, Heimtextil is focusing on contract design and plans to welcome architects, contract designers and hotel representatives to view more than 300 contract exhibitors.
In addition, Heimtextil 2015 will include educational events and international awards. Some highlights include “New & Next,” which will reveal creative design ideas from the newest up-and-coming design generation; “Green Village,” where sustainable design will take center stage; and presentations by international speakers in the “Lecture Square.”
Heimtextil is open to the trade only from Wednesday, Jan. 14 through Friday, Jan. 16, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
