To celebrate its clients and high-end industry partners, Manhattan Renovations hosted a cocktail party on the rooftop terrace of its Midtown showroom last Friday evening. Clients and guests enjoyed live music, delectable canapés and striking views of the nearby Empire State Building. This year’s fete marked the 14th anniversary party for the company, which prides itself on protecting clients from the nuisances and headaches associated with renovation projects.

“We are really dedicated to what we do and I believe in the phrase ‘Work hard, play hard,’” said Manhattan Renovations President Andrew Harrington. “I think [this kind of event] is great for the design community. I like reconnecting with the clients, especially those who we don’t see often or have done jobs with in the past. There is a great synergy and it’s good for morale.”

This year’s Moroccan-themed party, orchestrated by Creative Director Aly Laughlin, featured a belly dancer, Tarot card reader and music from DJ Debbie Attias and a band led by Tony Jarvis. Nearly 300 guests dined on traditional Moroccan food from L’s Kitchen and they imbibed the evening’s signature cocktail, Moroccan Mojito.

“We at Manhattan Renovations take our President Andrew Harrington’s personal doctrine “work hard, play hard” very seriously,” said Laughlin. “Our annual parties are an opportunity to thank our clients and interact with our high-end industry peers. I thought the Moroccan theme would be a fun way to incorporate beautiful rich fall colors, delicious food and fun entertainment.”

Notable attendees included interior designers Carl Lana, Alla Akimova, TC Chou, Marian Flynn of Design A 21 Interiors, Byron James of House of Oasis, artists Michael Joaquin Grey and Nathaniel Galka, actor Curzon Dobell, and clients Sophie Banks, Elaine Hsu, Guy Breen and Malcolm Ross.

"I love working with Manhattan Renovations because they think outside of the box; they don't design with a cookie cutter style,” said James. “Every project we have worked on together has been a stunning success. They always exceed my expectations. So many fellow designers were in attendance [Friday evening] and it was a great opportunity to meet new vendors."
